Music, friends and community. That’s what was on the menu at The Glass House on Friday 15th November and it was a night that won’t soon be forgotten.
AMAC’s Originals Take Three night played host to four awesome acts, ranging from the young and talented, to the not so young and talented. For me though the highlight was just how well the acts got on. It was about playing good music well, with likeminded souls and leaving the egos at home. Truly glorious.
First up was The Rec, a young three piece from Ashford with only a handful of gigs under their belts, although you would never know it. Nice powerful riff work from Jacob on guitar and the very distinctive vocal stylings from Scott, all held together by the more than competent Lewis on drums, proved to be the perfect opener for a quite special evening.
With the very difficult task of following The Rec, was Jason How and boy was he up for the challenge. One man, one guitar and one purpose. To rant musically and it was brilliant. No Great British Fake Off as far as he was concerned. Protest songs for this generation delivered with pithy charm.
Then bringing back the full band experience were indie rockers, The New Nervous Kind. Energy, catchy melodies and an awful lot of tongue in cheek. This four piece had every 90s reject in The Glass House grinning from ear to ear. The future looks good for this band and they certainly won’t be nervous about it.
Rounding off the night were the statesmen of the evening, Fate The Juggler. Showing us all that they were more than just so-so and letting us wonder at it all. This act had the young and not as young, dancing from the start and if you didn’t know the chorus at the beginning of the song, you were certainly hollering it out by the end. This was definitely a top notch end to a top notch night.
AMAC would like to thank all the artist for giving their time and talent for free and Paul Lilburn for operating the sound desk all evening and getting each band on and off the stage to keep the evening flowing brilliantly.
If you are a solo act or a band and are interested in taking part in a future AMAC night, then please feel free to contact us at our Facebook page or at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to make it happen.
AMAC Originals Take 4 will be back next year. So happy Christmas and we will see you then.
